This site-specific drawing documents an invasive species of Victorian Mourners making their monthly pilgrimage to Marilyn Monroe's grave. An iconic part of American culture, Marilyn's image resuscitates nostalgia for a mythical age of American Eminence and the great mother archetype found throughout my work. Spiritual emptiness fills the plague of Mourners as they continue to grieve Marilyn's death, still searching for an immaterial sustenance almost 60 years later.
